Home for the summer

Back home again after all our adventures getting the camper to Las Vegas and now it’s time to rest and recoup.  Tom suggested that we put on couple of hikes for NJ40+ and we connected with many friends, hiking Merrill Creek, Jockey Hollow and Black River.

I love spending time at home with Blair, Casey and Milo. It’s back to “what’s for lunch” with Blair, taking Milo for a walk and chatting with Casey about life, universe and everything.  Then couple of midweek hikes, even if it was hot and humid, it’s so good to hike with our little pod.

We had a great weekend in the Catskills at Phoenicia Lodge.  The hike, Mount Tremper, was challenging, I have not done this length and elevation in a while.  The humidity and bugs added to my stress, you simply could not stop for long without getting attack. Bug spray would simply slide off with perspiration.  But I enjoyed hiking with friends, talking and catching up.  The view from the fire tower was well worth it.

Now, I’m packing and organizing, we will be flying out back to Vegas later this week.  There’s a bit of trepidation as temperatures are over 100 degrees there and we are worried about the camper.

I’m looking forward to this loop, I reviewed our stops and added comments for potential activities.  Some locations we visited previously, it will be interesting to see them again. And Anthony will be joining us for portion of the loop, just like he did last year.  It’s always good to have friends with us.
