Return Home
What to say about this year? The first year of being retired. We travelled for five months across Eastern US and Canada. Camped in state and private campgrounds, some beautiful with lots of space and privacy and some crowded (very few of these).
We hiked arches and bridges in Kentucky, biked rail trails in Maryland, kayaked in Finger Lakes, Adirondacks, Maine and New Hampshire, visited museums and explored towns.
I loved our visit to Prince Edward Island, Tom enjoyed catching up with his family in Maine. We met with friends along the way in Shenandoah, Smokies, Adirondacks and New Hampshire, Anthony traveled with us through North and South Carolina then into St. Andrews Canada and Maine.
Though I took lots of pictures, it’s hard to express all the beautiful vistas we saw. We met lots of good people along the way, just normal, decent folks, living their lives.
I’m not sure what I wanted out of this journey, it was exciting and stressful at times, and I’ll be ready for more next year.
For now, seeing my family and friends is oh so good. Savor the moment!
